The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced the official ball to be used at the 2023 AFC Qatar Asian Cup, which opens in January next year.

AFC introduced, “‘VORTEXAC23’ is designed to capture the excitement, passion, and speed of a football game while incorporating Qatar’s symbolic color of chestnut. The design of the ball was inspired by the emblem of the tournament and captures the spirit of Asian football.” .

Attuk Seri John, Secretary General of AFC, expressed expectations, saying, “The official ball with innovative design and technology will provide the best match for the 24 teams participating in the Asian Cup.”

Meanwhile, this Asian Cup was originally scheduled to be held in China, but China abandoned the tournament in the aftermath of a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

Afterwards, Qatar won the bid competition with Korea and was selected as the new venue. The competition will run from January 12th to February 10th next year.

Korea, led by Jurgen Klinsmann, was placed in Group E along with Malaysia, Jordan and Bahrain.
