K-League 1 starts with Ulsan-Jeonbuk’Hyundai Derby’…Opens on February 25th

The 2023 season professional soccer K League 1 kicks off on the 25th of next month with the’Hyundai Derby’ between Ulsan Hyundai and Jeonbuk Hyundai.

On the 13th, the Korea Professional Football Federation announced the schedule for rounds 1 to 33 of the K League 1 regular round in the 2023 season.

The official opening game of the new season K-League 1 is a match between Ulsan and Jeonbuk held on February 25 at 2:00 pm at Ulsan Munsu Soccer Stadium.

Ulsan, the defending champion last season, and Jeonbuk, the Korea Football Association (FA) Cup winner, continue a tight competition from the opening game. 스포츠토토

Ulsan sent Japanese midfielder Amano Jun, who won the championship together, to rival Jeonbuk.

However, Joo Min-gyu, who played for Jeju United, Swedish midfielder Daryan Boyanich and striker Gustav Rubiksson are recruited to challenge for a second consecutive title.

Amano, who was ‘publicly sniped’ by Ulsan coach Hong Myung-bo in connection with the transfer, faced a rough opponent from the first game. He also previously expressed his will, saying, “I am prepared for the Ulsan match.”

In addition to Amano, Jeonbuk, which wants to regain the crown, embraced Lee Dong-jun, who was active in Ulsan. They strengthened their strength by recruiting Rafael, a Brazilian striker who has won the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League.

On the same day at 4:30 pm, FC Seoul and Incheon United will face each other at Seoul World Cup Stadium, and Suwon Samsung and Gwangju FC at Suwon World Cup Stadium.

On February 26 at 2:00 PM, the Pohang Steelers-Daegu FC and Jeju-Suwon FC matches will be held, and at 4:30 PM on the same day, Daejeon Hana Citizen, who successfully promoted to K-League 1, will meet Gangwon FC at home.

The home opener of Gwangju, which won the K-League 2 championship last season and was promoted, is against Seoul on March 5 at 4:30 pm at the Gwangju Soccer Stadium.

In addition, the rivalry between Seoul and Suwon, ‘Super Match’ will be held on April 22 at 2:00 pm at Seoul World Cup Stadium, and the first ‘East Coast Derby’ of the Ulsan-Pohang season will be held on the same day at 4:30 pm at Munsu Soccer Stadium.
