Kiwoom Heroes rode a five-hit, six-RBI performance from Lee Jung-hoo and Lee Hyung-jong to a sweep of the KT Wiz.

Kiwoom clinched the best-of-seven series with a 14-5 victory over visiting KT Wiz in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League on Wednesday at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, South Korea.

The bats shined. Right fielder Lee Jung-hoo, batting third, went 4-for-6 with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored, while Lee Hyung-jong also had two hits and five RBIs. However, KT was not done chasing. In the bottom of the sixth inning, after back-to-back singles by Park Byung-ho and Moon Sang-chul and an infield single by Hwang Jae-gyun loaded the bases, KT scored two runs on a sacrifice fly by Lee Ho-yeon and a grounder by Jung Jun-young. In the bottom of the seventh, the leadoff hitter Jang Jun-won singled and Park Byung-ho hit a two-run homer to extend the lead to four runs.

But Kiwoom drove in a run in the top of the eighth. After back-to-back singles by Lim Ji-yeol and Lee Won-seok, Lee Jung-hoo’s RBI double and Lee Hyung-jong’s sacrifice fly plated two more runs. In the top of the ninth, a two-run homer by Lim Byung-wook and an RBI double by Lee Jung-hoo capped the scoring.
