Professional volleyball men’s 2022-2023 season integrated champion Korean Air challenges the best club in Asia.
Korean Air will participate in the 2023 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship held in Manama, Bahrain, from the 14th to the 21st.
A total of 16 teams, including Korean Air, will participate in this tournament, and they will be divided into 4 groups of 4 teams for the group stage.
1st and 2nd place in each group advances to the quarterfinals, with the finals held on the 21st.
Korean Air is in Group A and competes with Bahrain Al-Ahli, Australia’s Canberra Heat, and Indonesia’s Jakarta Bayankara.
Korean Air will form a team of 16 starting players, including starting setter Han Seon-seon, main gunner Ji-seok Jeong, and Seung-seok Kwak, and will move to Bahrain via Incheon International Airport at 1:30 pm on the 11th.
Korean Air will play the first group league game against Canberra Heat at 10:30 pm on the 14th.
In this tournament, Korean Air plans to play a total of 7 matches, with rankings from 1st to 16th.
It is the first time for a Korean men’s team to participate in the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, which marks its 23rd this year.
The winning team will receive a ticket to the 2023 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship.
