Professional baseball SSG Landers has recruited a new foreign pitcher, Roennis Elias (34).
SSG announced today (4th), “We chose Cuban left-handed pitcher Elias as a replacement for Annie Romero. We signed a contract with Elias for a total of $540,000.”
Elias joined the Seattle Mariners of the American Professional Baseball as an international amateur free agent in 2011 and made his 2014 major league debut.
In 2014, he started all 29 games and went 10-12 with a 3.85 earned run average.
His individual career major league record was 22-24 with a 3.96 earned run average in 133 games (54 starts).
He did not play in a single game in the majors this year, instead appearing in four Triple-A games as a starter, going 2-0 with a 5.48 earned run average.
He represented Cuba in the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC).
The club evaluated “Elias as a highly complete left-handed pitcher with all starting pitching capabilities such as pitch position, control, breaking ball ability, and game management,” and “the angle of the fastball from a stable pitching mechanic is excellent, and he throws from the same release point as the fastball.” His changeup and curveball movements are sharp.”
He added, “Through the network owned by Trey Hillman Consultant, we checked Elias’ baseball inside and outside in many ways. It was evaluated as good in terms of skills and personality.”
Current SSG foreign hitter Guillermo Heredia, who played together as a teammate in Seattle, also advised the club, “Elias is a nice and good-natured player. He has an emotionally stable disposition.”
Elias said, “I am grateful to the officials who gave me the opportunity to join SSG. I am happy to be able to play baseball in Korea. I look forward to the day I can meet the fans.” “, he expressed his feelings.
The club said, “After Elias has a medical check, he plans to request a player registration disclosure from the KBO if there are no abnormalities.”
Romero suffered shoulder pain during spring training and left the team after not pitching a single game in the KBO regular season. 크크크벳
