Subjugation of the Suffragettes and the Onyangs

Top-ranked Supia Girls’ Middle School used its offensive prowess to keep Onyang Girls’ Middle School at bay.

Gwangju’s gold medal favorite Supiah Girls’ High School overcame a fourth-quarter comeback by Chungnam’s Onyang Girls’ High School to win 53-46 on the first day of the girls’ middle school preliminary round at the 53rd National Youth Sports Games at the Ulsan University of Science and Technology Gymnasium in Ulsan, South Korea, on Saturday.

The trio of Lim Se-woon (170 cm, F), Lim Yeon-seo (170 cm, G), and Kim Dam-hee (175 cm, F) all scored in double figures for Supia, which proved to be the decisive factor.

Onyang Girls’ Middle School gave it their all and tried to avenge their semifinal loss at the Federation Presidential Games, but were unable to overcome the early deficit.

In the second game of the girls’ U16 tournament, Cheongju Girls’ High School, representing Chungcheongbuk-do, won 73-54 over Jeonju Ki Jeonjoong, representing Jeonbuk, behind an even performance that saw four of their five starters score in double figures.

Kijeonjoong fought back from an early deficit, but could not overcome their physical limitations as the game wore on.

In the final game, Masan Girls’ Middle School from Gyeongnam dominated Wolpyeong Middle School from Daejeon 94-35.

Earlier in the women’s U13 category, Busan’s Daesangcho easily defeated Gyeongnam’s Sanhocho, 36-20, and Chungnam’s Onyangcho beat Chungbuk’s Sajikcho, 33-24.

Gwangju’s Banglim Basketball Club, which operated as an elite team until last season, ended the day with a 33-18 victory over Daegu’s Wolbae Choe, whose team composition is not yet complete 먹튀검증.
